Hello, I'm Mrs. Sklar. I am the Career Technical Educator (CTE) at John A. Sutter Middle School. I teach 7th and 8th graders Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Design and Modeling, Automation and Robotics, Green Architecture and Flight and Space courses.
I've blended my 25+ years of engineering experience with my personal experience of raising two children who attended LAUSD schools. My engineering experience has been primarily in the aerospace industry. I've been involved with the design, analysis and manufacturing of spacecraft and airplanes and also served as a project manager and business developer. My parents are first generation immigrants and I am a native Spanish speaker. I understand the challenges and hopes parents have for their children. I had fabulous, caring LAUSD teachers who helped me to succeed. I'm happy to have the opportunity to repay those educators by becoming a teacher myself and inspiring students to consider careers in STEM. |

Ms. Lyons - 8th Grade Math
I have been a math teacher at Sutter Middle School for 18 years! Before becoming a teacher I worked in marketing for several businesses. I enjoy bringing real-world experience to math class!
